Speaker: Gayle LaSalle, LaSalle Consulting
Just about everyone in business has heard a plethora of advice on networking and there are many people ready to give advice on this: when, where and how to network.
There are entire websites on how to build your lists. It may feel good to have a very large list. However, what you do with that list, is more important.
It’s been said (not sure who said it first) that people do business with people they know, who they like, and who they trust. Getting a bunch of business cards at an event may be networking but it’s not relationship building.
Let’s talk about the difference between what we generally know as networking and why relationship building is more important!
Gayle LaSalle likes to refer to herself as the CEO of personal accountability at “I’m the Boss of ME!. As a speaker, author and personal leadership facilitator, Gayle helps people focus on those things they can do as opposed to those things over which they have no control. Learning to build solid business relationships is certainly one of those things over which each has control and needs to manage for the best outcomes.
