Benefits of Membership
Independent consultants join the Alliance to network with colleagues, grow their business and expand their professional skills. Membership in the Consulting Alliance offers career, business building, educational, professional, and business development opportunities. Members attend Alliance meetings, workshops, and seminars at discounted rates.
If you meet the Alliance’s membership eligibility requirements, you can begin the membership process by completing the Online Application. Please contact our Membership Chair if you have questions.
Completed applications are screened by the membership committee and prospective members are interviewed in person or by phone. After at least three current business references have been checked, the committee prepares a profile of the prospective member. This document is sent to all current members and a vote takes place at the next regularly scheduled members-only breakfast meeting.
Guest speakers address timely topics of interest to consultants in the Capital Region. Recent guests have included Michael Tentowski discussing the RPI incubator, Laurie Lewis, author of "What to Charge", and several media experts on Media Relations. Guests are welcome at these functions.
Professional development breakfasts
A member or guest speaker focuses on one important consulting skill at these monthly member-only gatherings. Members have recently spoken about consultant marketing, technology tools, and procuring government contracts.

Through the Consulting Alliance's marketing efforts, businesses, government agencies, educational institutions, and not-for-profits visit our web site for referrals. Companies may search on-line and/or contact the Consulting Alliance for information and referrals.
Members can use the searchable database of Consulting Alliance members to network, develop referrals and create alliances.
